Role overview:

We’re looking for a dynamic Research Manager to join Project Blue, a leading market intelligence firm at the forefront of commodity research. This role will play a central part in strengthening our analytical output and shaping how we deliver Cost & ESG intelligence to clients worldwide. As Research Manager, you’ll oversee a range of cost products, supported by a talented team of analysts, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery across a wide range of commodities. You’ll be responsible for refining our existing tools, responding to shifting market and client demands, and continuously elevating the value we offer. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and a globally distributed team, engaging directly with clients across industries – from governments and investors to technology firms and automotive OEMs. You’ll also play a key role in steering the strategic direction of our Cost & ESG offering, helping define commercial opportunities and shaping future product development.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of analysts focused on cost modelling
  • Oversee the delivery and evolution of our Cost & ESG product suite
  • Liaise with clients to understand needs and embed feedback into our products
  • Identify new opportunities for research and product expansion
  • Present insights and updates to stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Represent Project Blue internationally – travel is a core part of the role
  • Direct involvement in sales and marketing efforts

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a comparable role within commodity market intelligence or research
  • Strong financial analysis skills, with a solid grasp of cost modelling and economic evaluation
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards in cost analysis and financial benchmarking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
  • Confident public speaker, capable of presenting to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Familiarity with mining and/or metallurgical processes, including upstream production flows
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and their relevance to commodities
  • Background in commodity markets, economics, or a relevant technical discipline such as geoscience, metallurgy, or engineering
